DEVELOPMENT OF FIVE-YEAR INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN (IDP) 2022/2027 AND REVIEW OF SECTORAL PLANS, SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK, THE MTREF BUDGET 2022/2023 – 2024/25 AND BUDGET RELATED POLICIES

PUBLIC NOTICE

In terms of Chapter 5 of Municipal System Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000), a municipal council is expected to develop and review its IDP in accordance with an assessment of its performance measures and to the extent that changing circumstances so demands. A municipality is therefore obliged to review and amend its IDP in accordance with a prescribed process.

Moreover, following the induction of the new municipal council for the new council term, they will be evaluating the extent in which the current IDP will be facilitated for the next cycle (5 year) of its term.

It is within this context that a notice is hereby given that, the facilitation for the development of the Integrated Development Plan 2022/2027, the review of Sectoral Plans, Spatial Development Framework, Draft MTREF Budget 2022/2023 – 2024/25 and Draft Budget Related Policies for the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality will be conducted through various platforms to enable meaningful contributions.

This is done due to the increasing number of cases as a result of the new variant knows as “Omicron” and which is spreading faster. It is in this instance that the municipality encourages the community and all stakeholders to submit all written comments and inputs to the following persons:

  • IDP and Sectoral Plans enquiries: Monyake.mothekhe@mangaung.co.za and Lebohang.pita@mangaung.co.za
  • Spatial Development Framework: Tilfred.Mabuza@mangaung.co.za and Bheki.mthembu@mangaung.co.za
  • MTREF Budget and Budget Related Policies enquiries: Mathapelo.masisi@mangaung.co.za, Hansie.VanZyl@mangaung.co.za, and lehula.reid@mangaung.co.za.

Furthermore, the inputs may be hand-delivered to the respective ward and PR councillors, office of the speaker (Bram Fischer Building, Room 701), municipal offices in all the Mangaung regions and to the office of the City Manager, Bram Fischer Building, Room 201). The closing date for these inputs will be until Monday, 31 January 2022.
