The Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality places a high value in the preservation and maintenance of their open spaces to ensure that MMMis attractive, safe, clean, green and healthy and sought after by visitors and investors.
The purpose of this policy is to involve Mangaung communities to protect and maintain MMM’s parks and open spaces and to re-emphasize the importance of parks and open spaces to the broader community of Mangaung.
The specific objectives of the policy are as follows:
- To involve the public and private sector in the upkeep, development and maintenance of parks and open spaces;
- To educate the public about creating and reserving clean, green and safe parks for everyone;
- To support all sectors interested in improving and conserving our open spaces.
